The Fire in the Plains Workshop will be held May 16, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Western Heritage Museum, 1 Thunderbird Circle.
Prescribed fire planning and wildland fire fighting. Topics include: ecology, laws, weather, smoke management, Lea County fire response and volunteer firefighting, developing a burn plan, and equipment and technique. Online registration is available! Free breakfast and lunch with registration. First 20 to register will receive a free RX fire manual.
The NMIL (New Mexico Indian Livestock) Conference will be held May 21 - 22, McGee Park, 41 Road 5568.
A grassroots program driven by clientele needs and interest in support of the many challenges of raising livestock. Online registration available!
