Below are all upcoming college calendar events taking place specifically in Doña Ana. You can also see events in neighboring counties or online.
The Teaching Garden is open for guided tours, Monday - Sunday, sunrise to sunset, Fabian Garcia Science Center, 113 West University Avenue.
Visitors may take a self-guided tour through the quarter-acre garden. Or guided tours are available by making a reservation. Tours are free, thanks to a generous contribution from the garden’s namesake, Amy Goldman-Fowler.
Poster Boards are available to rent for all occasions and sites on the main NMSU Campus.
Online ordering available! Rental fee is $25 per board and includes delivery, setup, and removal.
The Chile Chats will be held the first Wednesday of the month, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Fabian García Research Center Classroom, 113 West University Avenue. Or online via Zoom - Meeting ID: 847 2251 5474.
Participation is free and open to anyone interested in learning about and discussing chile pepper production.
The Diabetes Prevention Program will be held Wednesdays, Sep. 3 - 17, 11:30 a.m., online via Zoom.
The program will help decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes by leading a healthy lifestyle. It is free and open to NMSU employees; participants must be 18 years of age or older. Insurance not required. Class is designed for people with prediabetes or those who have not been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
The Finance and Friends Book Club will be held Sep. - Nov., 3 to 4 p.m., online via Zoom.
Book club will focus on money management and self-improvement and will cover 3 books. Three series to choose from with respective schedules below.
- Millionaire Next Door and Investing Game: Wednesdays, Sep. 3 - 17
- Millionaire Success Habits: Wednesdays, Nov. 5 - 19
The Pre-Diabetes GLP-1 Classes will be held Wednesdays, Sep. 3 - Feb. 25, 9 to 10 a.m.

The HRTM Golf Scramble will be held Sep. 5, 8 a.m., NM Golf Course, 3000 Herb Wimberly Drive.
There are several sponsor options to choose from, ranging $200 and up. A silent auction and raffle will be included.
The Fair Youth Contests will be held Sep. 6 - Oct. 3, 8 a.m., various locations.
Contests help youth develop workforce and career skills important to the agricultural and natural resource industries. Online registration available! Fee is $5 per participant per fair event.
