The Forage Growers Workshop will be held Dec. 4, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., UNM: Valencia Campus, 280 La Entrada Road.
Several topics will be discussed such as Plantain and Pigweed Control, Gopher and Prairie Dog Control, and much more. Event is free and lunch will be provided. 5 CEUs available.
The Pesticide Applicators Training will be held Dec. 5, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Socorro County Annex Building, 198 Neel Avenue.
Extension specialists will present on controlling rodents in farming scenarios; controlling aphids/weevils in alfalfa; chemical resistance and modes of action; laws and regulations, and pesticide spill cleanup. Fee is $35; payable with a credit card or check. Deadline: Nov. 28.
The MFP (Master Food Preserver) Online Program will be held the second Monday of the month, 6 to 7 p.m., online via Zoom.
Participation is free and open to anyone interested in learning about freezing, dehydrating, canning, and food safety. Volunteers will be available to answer your questions and share tips to safely and successfully preserve food at home.
